I left a couple of items that cost $3.48 @ the self checkout lane, but manager Tommy Cook @ store #373 claims I didn't.He wouldn't give me the cash or replace the items, and I had my receipt. What a waste of time and gas money, very poor customer service.

Today was my last visit to this brand new store! I frequently stop on the way home, but it has become too exhausting to, simply, check out. The "store manager" seems to be too preoccupied with either smoking cigarettes, her phone, gossip with other employees, or just standing outside to help the patrons. I'm not talking about difficult questions about obscure items, but purchasing my items. Just checking out! My professional experience is retail management - something this location desperately needs!

Is quality customer service a priority for Dollar General? At the Pea Ridge location, it is NOT. The blonde lady, that currently holds the title of store manager, is more concerned with smoking cigarettes and social media on her phone than she is with the patrons that frequent her location. Today, as I approached the counter with items in my hands the "store manager" walked from behind the counter and out the front door to smoke and use her phone. Not a word was spoken to me nor the one other employee. At the time, I did not know anyone else was in there - so, I started saying "Hello". I received no response; however, after approximately 10 "Hello's" another employee came sauntering up to the counter as though she was out for a stroll on the beach. She did not say a word to me but did, at least, ring up my items and take my money. As I left the store I took the time to share my shopping experience with the lady that left me standing at the counter so she could go smoke. When I approached her, she identified herself as the store manager. I informed this "manager" that approximately 1 of 3 trips to her store I am left standing at the checkout waiting - for an exorbitant amount of time - for an employee to ring me out. After being informed of my experience, this "store manager" offered no apology, offered no explanation, offered NO WORDS but did look back down at her phone as though I was not speaking to her. This NEW location, in a rural area where word of mouth is a great form of marketing, is in DIRE need of competent management!
